Maple class have been learning about soil, and the different layers of soil in their science lessons. Last week they enjoyed some time in the courtyard making some mini compost bins to produce some rich compost.
The children put some soil and stones in the bottom of their containers.
They then added some water to their 'bins'.
They found some worms in our large composts bins and carefully moved some of them into their own containers.
Lastly the children added some fruit and vegetable peelings.
Finally the containers have been covered in cloth, wrapped in black paper and are out in our greenhouse while we wait so see the final results!
