Eco Pirates Solar Farm Visit

On Thursday 28th June, the Eco-Pirates visited Lymington Solar Farm.

This was a very informative morning where we all learnt how the 9372 solar panels generated  enough energy to power 700 kettles or 25,000 T.V’s or 250,000 light bulbs.

We learned that Photons, the ‘tiny packets of energy’ found in sunlight produce energy . All a solar cell needs to produce electricity is the sun and a circuit.

We learned that the 11,000 volts are so dangerous it could kill you!

The solar power is sent to the National Grid and to people’s homes.
